How long should a mattress last?
The Sleep Council recommends replacing a mattress every seven years. Quality pocket-sprung mattresses often last longer; lower-density memory foam tends to degrade faster.
What does the firmness rating mean?
Firmness ratings are not standardised across brands. A 'medium' from one manufacturer may feel soft or firm from another. Where a manufacturer or independent reviewer publishes indentation load deflection figures, we note them so you can compare across brands.
